About the Angel Investor Deal of the Year
The inaugural “Angel Investor Deal of the Year” category is proudly presented in partnership with the UK-Kenya Tech Hub as part of a key component of the Angel Investors Catalytic Program, a dynamic initiative aimed at fortifying angel networks in Kenya and ensuring that local capital is readily accessible for startups.
This award recognizes and celebrates the contributions and achievements of angel investors, whose investments have fueled the growth and innovation of early-stage companies. The goal is to identify deals that have significantly transformed the startup landscape, propelled innovation, and created opportunities for both investors and entrepreneurs.
Criteria for Nomination:
- Deal Size and Scale: The investment deal should have a substantial monetary value, representing a significant infusion of capital into the startup, which can contribute to its growth and development
- Impact on the Startup: Investments that have had a substantial and positive impact on the startup, such as accelerating its growth, expanding its market reach, or enabling the development of a groundbreaking product or service
- Milestone Achievement/Exit: Investments that have driven promising startups to achieve notable milestones such as attracting more investments, or have led to successful exits
- Innovative Investment Structure: Deals that employed innovative financing mechanisms and investment structures
